James Roberts

James Roberts, 67, passed away on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, as a result of an accident. He was born on December 15, 1956, in Carrollton, the son of the late Glen and Ruth (Scoggins) Roberts. He married the former Tina Coleman on August 8, 1983, in Jerseyville, and she survives. Other survivors include three sons and a daughter in law: Timothy Roberts of Alton, Illinois, James Perry of Alton, Illinois, Adam and Angel Roberts of Wood River, Illinois, eight grandchildren: Timothy, Xander, Bentley, Harley, Sophia, Willow, Mayah, and Leland, one sister and brother in law: Marsha and Russ Buchanon, three brothers and two sisters in law: Alan and Sue Roberts of Roodhouse, Illinois, Rodney and Deb Roberts of White Hall, Illinois, and Brian Roberts of White Hall, Illinois.


James was employed by Maedge Trucking and Excavating in Highland for over twenty-five years. James was a veteran of the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching them play sports, fishing, hunting, doing yard work and mushroom hunting with his sons.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Glen Roberts Jr.


Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held starting at 12pm on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Roxana Park, 2 Park Drive, in Roxana.
