Janis Lynn Hobbs - Foster

Bethalto: Janis Lynn Hobbs – Foster, 66, passed away at 7:55am on Monday, June 1, 2015, at Integrity Healthcare of Wood River. She was born on September 27, 1948, in Akin, Illinois, the daughter of the late Jewell and Elaine (Beachum) Hobbs. She married Walter Foster on February 14, 2011, in South Roxana, and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters and a sons in law: Carolyn Fulcher of Davenport, Florida, Tim Fulcher of Bethalto, Melissa and Ryan Gold of Shorewood, Illinois, four grandchildren: Tara Voelker and her husband: Max, Seth Tefertiller and his wife: Karissa, Bree Ann Fulcher, Gavin Gold, three sisters: Judy Cavasher and her companion: Keith Moore of East Alton, Alice Anderson of Jerseyville, Cynthia Moore of East Alton, two brothers and sisters in law: John and Janie Hobbs of Bellevue, Nebraska, Ray and Sandy Hobbs of Alton, several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. She was formerly employed at McDonnell – Douglas as a MAP mechanic. She owned and operated Jan’s Antiques in Alton for 25 years. She was active in the prison ministry at the Madison County Jail. She was a foster parent for many years. She loved to line dance at the Senior Citizens building in Bethalto. She volunteered at the Community Hope Center. She loved to crochet and was active in TOPS in Wood River. She was a member of Faith Christian Fellowship in South Roxana for 30 years. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at the funeral home. Pastor Art Hooper will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville. Memorials are suggested to Faith Christian Fellowship Church in South Roxana and will be accepted at the funeral home.
