Jeffrey Evans, 63, passed away at 7:48pm on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on September 17, 1961, in Jerseyville, the son of Esther (Kappler) Evans of Jerseyville and the late Robert Evans. He married the former Royal Douglas on May 31, 1995, in Jerseyville, and she survives. In addition to his mom and his wife, Jeffrey is survived by a daughter: Andrea Evans of Cottage Hills, three grandchildren: Sophia Buedel, Scarlett Buedel, Stella Rose Spitzmiller, a sister: Regina Merriman of Jerseyville, a brother: Mark Evans of Jerseyville, a niece: Charlene Mills of Jerseyville, a nephew: Dallas Merriman of Jerseyville, a goddaughter and godson: Karla and Nathan Bontrager of Granite City, and other extended family and friends.

Jeffrey was a wonderful Christian who loved the Lord with all of his heart and exemplified the love of God in all areas of his life. He was a friend to all he met and would readily share the Gospel with any who would listen. Prayer and Bible reading was the foundation of his life, he can now make supplication face to face with his Savior.

He was a devoted husband to his wife and a loving father to his children. He instilled in them values of putting God and family first, being caring toward others, and was immensely proud of their achievements. His love for his grandchildren brought him immense joy, and he never failed to hold them up in prayer.

He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and devotion that touched the lives of all who knew him.

Jeffrey was employed as a muffler specialist for over twenty – nine years at Rob’s Discount Muffler in Rosewood Heights. He was a loyal employee who always went above and beyond for any and all customers. He was an avid bike lover and a member of the Rice Burners Motorcycle Club. He attended Meadowbrook Assembly of God where he shared his gifts and love for God faithfully.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Rebekah Buedel of Bethalto.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10am until time of funeral services at 12pm on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Meadowbrook Assembly of God in Meadowbrook. Rev. Royce Roy and Pastor Michael Rorie will officiate. Burial will be at Kane Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Meadowbrook Assembly of God Church and will be accepted at the services.
