Jerry D. Ikerman, 81, formerly of Wood River, passed away at 3:50am on Saturday, July 13, 2013, at his residence. He was born on November 7, 1931, in Leman, Missouri the son of the late Virgil and Edna (Hodge) Ikerman. He married the former Elvira Trinca on August 7, 1954, in New Jersey and she preceded him in death on September 24, 2005. Survivors include one daughter and son in law: Debbie and Tom Hawkins of Florissant, Missouri, three sons and two daughters in law: Jerry and Jodi Ikerman Jr. of Theodosia, Missouri, Jeff and Wendy Ikerman of Gillespie, Mark Ikerman of Wood River, nine grandchildren: Tiffany, Bryan, Dante, Dustin, Sabrina, Cody, Aaron, Kenzie, Haylee, three great grandchildren: Isabella, Gracie, Kayleigh, two sisters and brothers in law: Nora and Tim Johnston of Delta, Missouri, Carolyn and Jim Barlow of Delta, Missouri, one brother: Don Ikerman of Perryville, Missouri. He formerly owned and operated Jerry's Floor Service in St. Louis, Missouri. He then worked at King of Tiles in St. Louis. He loved country music and boating. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #254 in Alton. He was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three infant children, one sister: Patsy, and two brothers: Larry and Delbert. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 9am until time of memorial services at 11am on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the West Alton Community Church in West Alton, Missouri. Pastor Dave Arendell will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 12:30pm on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens with full military rites by the Ritual Team of VFW Post 1308 of Alton. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of Debbie Hawkins.
