Jerry Miller

Virden: Jerry Miller, 71, passed away at 6:34am on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Carlinville Rehabilitation and Health in Carlinville. He was born on November 9, 1950, in Litchfield, the son of the late Elmer and Estella (Keen) Miller. He married the former Debra “Debby” Shunk on September 4, 1982, in Virden, and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters: Jennifer Miller of Edinburg, Illinois, Melissa Miller of Auburn, two sons and a daughter in law: Philip Miller of Girard, Matt and Amber Miller of Virden, his grandchildren: Mallory, Rachel, Ayden, Bella, Aurora, a great granddaughter: Amelia, a sister: Janice Russell of Springfield, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Jerry was formerly employed as an insurance adjuster for Country Financial and later as a claims director at Horace Mann in Springfield. He was a member of Grace Southern Baptist Church in Virden. He was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by two brothers: Cletus and Alvin, and one sister: Marlene. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 10am until time of services at 11am on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Grace Southern Baptist Church in Virden. Pastor Nathan Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Virden Cemetery with full military honors by the Virden American Legion Post 386. Memorials are suggested to Grace Southern Baptist Church or to the Virden American Legion.
