John Dutchik

East Alton:

John Dutchik, 67, passed away at 2:50pm on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at his residence. He was born on September 11, 1955, in Alton, the son of Leila (Cooperider) Dutchik of Wood River and the late Clement Dutchik. He married the former Sandra Seals on August 4, 2000, in Edwardsville, and she survives. Other survivors include a step daughter: Amy Portwood of Edwardsville, three step sons and daughters in law: Brian and Jennifer Seals of Bethalto, James and Deanna Seals of East Alton, Randy and Pam Portwood of Wood River, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a sister: Diane Dutchik of Wood River, two brothers and a sister in law: Ken and Barbara Dutchik of Pineville, Louisiana, Tom Dutchik of East Alton, and many other extended family and friends.

John was employed as a surveyor at Sheppard Morgan & Schwaab in Alton for over thirty – five years. John loved BBQ’ing, drinking beer, and listening to KSHE 95.

In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Private inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Edwardsville.

Memorials are suggested to ALS Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
