John Hosier

John Hosier, 79, passed away at 12:43pm on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Belleville Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 24, 1946, in Harrisburg, Arkansas, the son of the late Robert and Violet (Gilham) Hosier. He married the former Marilyn Bridges on December 16, 1988, in Edwardsville and she survives. Other survivors include his children: Patty and Chris Brown of St. John, Missouri, Selena and Brian Orloski of Kansas City, Missouri, Donna and Danny Schalk of Staunton, Kayla and Jon Lindquist of Wood River, John and Dawn Hosier of Lansing, Michigan, Robert and Mindy Hosier of Riverside, California, Charles and Sharon Forbes of Fort Worth, Texas, twenty five grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, his siblings: Bertha Hosier of Las Vegas, Nevada, Mary Davis of Paragould, Arkansas, Lasty “Ann” Corley of Monroe, Louisiana, Carolyn and Allen Bridges of Martin, Tennessee, David and Rhonda Hosier of Paragould, Arkansas, Mikey and Catherine Hosier of Paragould, Arkansas, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.


John was employed as a mechanic at EL Jay Products for over fifty - one years.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter: Susan Marie Hosier, a granddaughter: Ellie, two great grandchildren: Millie Jean, Baby Orloski, three brothers: George, Joe, Ruben “R.A.”, an infant brother, two sisters: Betty and Ola Mae.


In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.


Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or to the American Lung Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
