John E. "Jack" Streeper

March 19, 1938 — April 18, 2015

Godfrey: John E. “Jack” Streeper, Sr., 77, passed away at 12:15pm on Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Integrity Healthcare of Godfrey formerly known as Blu - Fountain Manor Nursing Home. He was born on March 19, 1938, St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late John L. and Marjorie (Yenny) Streeper. He married the former Donna Georgevits on May 9, 1962, in Alton, and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter: Diane Vroman of Alton, two sons and a daughter in law: John Streeper, Jr. of Godfrey, Bob and Tracy Streeper of Bethalto, four grandchildren: Hannah and her husband Josh, Morgan, Griffin, Jacquelyn, one great grandson: Alexander, two sisters and brothers in law: Judi and Ron Morlan of Florida, Carol and Jay Jasen of Florida, five half - brothers, two half – sisters, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other extended family and friends. He was formerly employed for 25 years at Affton Trucking Company in St. Louis as a truck driver. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and was a big NASCAR fan. He was also formerly employed as a firefighter for 7 years as an East Alton firefighter. As a child, he lived in the former Streeper Funeral Home in Upper Alton. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
