Wood River: Jonathan D. Ramsey, 28, passed away at 10:40am on Friday, November 17, 2017, in Wood River. He was born on August 18, 1989, in Alton, the son of Lonnie and Tina (Goodman) Ramsey of Carlinville. He married Candice Dare on February 20, 2010, in Alton, and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter: Grace Ramsey of the home, two sons: Kaden Ramsey of the home, Landon Ramsey of the home, two sisters and a brother in law: Micah Ramsey of Plainview, Elizabeth and Nick Hart of Chesterfield, Illinois, one brother: Joshua Ramsey of Carlinville, and his paternal grandma: Shelvy Tucker of Jerseyville. Jonathan was employed at the Veteran Curation Program in St. Louis. He was a Shriner, a member of the Franklin Masonic Lodge #25 A.F. & A.M. in Alton, and he was a volunteer and board member for the United States Veteran’s Foundation. He was a volunteer with the Got Your Six Support Dogs. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he served in Afghanistan from 2010-2011 with the Triple Nickel 555 Engineer Battalion. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Mack and Enid Gray. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm on Monday, November 20, 2017, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at the funeral home. Pastor Donald McClintock will officiate. Full military honors will be conducted by the Ritual Team of VFW Post 1308 of Alton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
