Josephine Drummond, 79, passed away at 10:58pm on Friday, March 22, 2024, at Villa of Hollybrook. She was born on December 13, 1944, in St. Louis, the daughter of the Bernabe and Guadalupe Marie (Valdez) Barboza, Sr. She married Earl Drummond in 1985 and he preceded her in death on January 3, 2023. Survivors include a daughter and son in law: Terri and Jim Marr, two sons and daughter in law: Philip and Lisa Lemus, Bob and Martha Lemus, a step son and his wife: Earl and Tracey Drummond, her grandchildren: Roger Jackson, Eric Lemus, Nathan Haynes, Andrew Lemus, Blake Drummond, Zach Drummond, Dillon Drummond, her great grandchildren: Bentley Jackson, Delaney Jackson, Eleanor Drummond, Emilia Drummond, a sister and brother in law: Mary Louis and Paul Perez of San Antonio, Texas, and many other extended family and friends.
Josie was a beautician by trade and later became a real estate broker. She loved the Lord and served in nursing home ministry.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Robert “Big Daddy” Barboza, Bernabe “Barney” Barboza, and Daniel “Calhoun” Barboza,
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 2pm until time of memorial services at 3pm on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Private inurnment will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
