Judith "Judy" Gill

Brighton: Judith “Judy” Gill, 79, passed away at 10:10am on Saturday, March 28, 2020, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, Missouri. She was born on February 22, 1941, in Alton, the daughter of the late Amos and Jessie (Warren) Whorl. She married Harold Gill on August 6, 1960, in Alton, and he preceded her in death on December 11, 2017. Survivors include four daughters and sons in law: Tracy and Clark Stoeckel of Brighton, Tammy and Jeffrey Burcham of East Alton, Robin and Robert Berry of Alton, Patty and Devon Bott of Wood River, one son and daughter in law: Mark and Meshawn Gill of Jennings, Missouri, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters: Ola Lovell of Alton, Marcella Standefer of Alton, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Judy worked at St. Francis Daycare in Alton as an assistant prior to her retirement. She attended Bethel Pentecostal Church in Rosewood Heights. In addition to her parents and her husband, Judy was preceded in death by three sisters: Joyce Goodman, Linda Levy, Ann Seiler, two brothers: Jerry Whorl, and Tom Whorl. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of her life, memorial services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
