Alton: June Woodward, 77, passed away at 4:35pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, at Willow Rose Nursing Home in Jerseyville. She was born on October 8, 1940, in Alton, the daughter of the late John Edward and Wilma (Baldwin) Northcutt. She married William “Bill” Woodward on June 5, 1958, in East Alton, and he survives. Other survivors include a daughter: Joanne Allen of Alton, a son and daughter in law: Hardy and Renee Woodward of East Alton, eight grandchildren, sixteen great – grandchildren, a sister and brother in law: Georgia and John Leininger of Rosewood Heights, a brother and sister in law: John and Janet Northcutt of Phoenix, Arizona, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. June was formerly employed at Reeves Café in Alton and she retired from the Pancake Ranch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons: Forrest, John Douglas, William “B.J.”, a grandson: John Woodward Jr., two brothers: Larry Northcutt, Ronald Northcutt, and a sister: Brenda Walters. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10am to 12pm on Monday, November 13, 2017, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Graveside services will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family in care of Hardy Woodward.
