Katherine Booth - Williams

Katherine L. Booth - Williams, 89, passed away at 2:50pm on Thursday, February 6, 2014, at Blu – Fountain Manor in Godfrey, Illinois with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 3, 1925, the eleventh of twelve children, at her home on Choutea Avenue in Alton the daughter of the late Peter and Sina Foster - Kortkamp) Bruns. She married Harold E. Booth on September 26, 1942, in Alton and he preceded her in death. She later remarried and he also preceded her in death. Survivors include four daughters and two sons in law: Carolyn and Ray West of Godfrey, Julie Bowers of Henderson, Kentucky, Janice Ryan of Roxana, Illinois, Lonna and Mike Allen of Salem, Illinois, one son and daughter in law: Paul E. and Penny Booth Sr. of Argyle, Iowa, eleven grandchildren, and sixteen great – grandchildren and an expectant great grandson. She attended Alton High School. She was a Wal – Mart greeter and got a Nurses Attendant Certificate. A homemaker, she was a member of the Roxana Church of Nazarene for many years where she was a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and she served on various church board and church committees. Her family and her church was her life. In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by eleven brothers and sisters, and a son in law: Kenneth Bowers. In celebration of her life visitation will be held from 10am until time of funeral services at 12pm on Monday February 10, 2014, at the Roxana Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Dr. Larry Lacher will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to the Roxana Church of the Nazarene or to Blu – Fountain Manor Nursing Home.
