Kayla Rea, 35, passed away at 9:40pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. She was born on September 17, 1989, in Alton, the daughter of Frank and Dena (Buss) Rea of Wood River. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her paternal grandma: Virginia Rea of Wood River, her fiancé: Kevin Dixon of Wood River, many aunts uncles, and cousins.


Kayla was employed as an administrative assistant at Allied Universal. She was a member of Lifebrook Church in Bethalto where she served on the worship team. She loved gaming and tabletop games. A graduate of Roxana High School, Kayla was a member of Thespian Troupe 556.


She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Delmar Buss, Verna Buss Wiser, and her paternal grandpa: Charles Rea.


In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 3pm to 6pm on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am on Monday, April 7, 2025, at Lifebrook Church in Bethalto. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.


Memorials are suggested to Lifebrook Church Missions and will be accepted at the funeral home.
