Wood River: Ken Huff, 69, passed away at 6:08pm on Thursday, May 4, 2017, in the emergency room at Christian Northeast Hospital. He was born on September 6, 1947, in Fayette, Illinois, the son of the late Charles and Sylvia (Fry) Huff. He married the former Marilyn Thompson on September 19, 1971, in Jerseyville, and she survives. Other survivors include a son and daughter in law: Damion and Sasha Huff of Wood River, three grandchildren: Drew, Zachary, Olivia, three brothers and two sisters in law: Frank and Hazel Huff of Jerseyville, Dave Huff of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Dick and Darr Huff of Texas, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Ken was employed at Team Industrial Services in South Roxana as a district safety coordinator. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved spending time with his grandkids. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Charles and Ronnie. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Thursday, May 11, 2017, at the funeral home. Pastor Dan Smith will officiate. Full military rites will be conducted by the Ritual Team of VFW Post #1308 of Alton. Following the services and in accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Private family inurnment will be at a later date at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana. Memorials are suggested to the Wood River Public Library and will be accepted at the funeral home.
