Kenneth L. Clark

Reverend Ken Clark, 66, went to be with the Lord at 10:38am on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 13, 1948, in Paducah, Kentucky, the son of the late Arthur S. and Florence Irma (Newell) Clark. He married the former Mary Sue Hardway on August 30, 1969, in Charleston, Illinois and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters and sons in law: Anita and Mike Lucas of Godfrey, Valerie and Joe Marshall of Glen Carbon, four grandchildren: Michaela, Cora, Benjamin, Evelyn, one sister and brother in law: Carol J. and Kenneth Mize of Villa Ridge, Illinois, and one brother and sister in law: Arthur “Sonny” and Eloise Clark Jr. of Creve Couer, Missouri. He was the minister at Enon Baptist Church in Ashmore, Illinois for two years prior to moving to Blooming Grove Baptist Church in McLeansboro for three years. He then became the pastor at First Southern Baptist Church in South Roxana now Crosspoint Church sixteen and a half years. He has been the pastor at Jerome Lane Baptist Church for the last fifteen years. He loved his family, his grandchildren, and his church. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 3pm to 8pm on Friday, March 14, 2014, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Visitation will continue from 9:30am until time of funeral services at 10:30am on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Calvary Baptist Church in Alton. Rev. Ronny Carroll, and Rev. Andre’ Dobson will officiate. Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the One Mission Society for Brett and Angie Bundy who are missionaries in Haiti and will be accepted at the funeral home.
