Cottage Hills:
Kenneth D. Halley, 65, passed away at 3:35pm on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at his residence. He was born on October 30, 1960, in Staunton, the son of the late Harold and Alta (Cambron) Halley. He married the former Nancy Skweres on December 30, 1998, in Cottage Hills, and she preceded him in death on October 16, 2015. Survivors include a daughter and son in law: Sidney and Ian Compton of Cottage Hills, three step sons: Brian and Kim Kudela of Hancock, Wisc., Nathan and Diane Kudela of Milpitas, Calif., Kevin, several grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers in law: Sheila and Rick Hensley of Kerrville, Texas, Pamela Halley of Cottage Hills, Patricia and Robert Williams of Cadet, Missouri, two brothers and a sister in law: Vincent and Kathy Halley of Bethalto, Ronald Halley of Piedmont, Missouri, many nieces, nephews, and many other extended family and friends.
Kenny met the love of his life, Nancy, while working at EIS Brake Warehouse in Berkeley, Missouri. After several years there, he began a proud career as a union laborer and later retired from Laborers’ Local 42 of St. Louis. He was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and pride in a job well done.
Kenny enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, admiring American-made cars, and spending time with those he loved. One of the greatest joys of his life was raising Sidney, alongside Nancy. He was a constant source of love, guidance, and support throughout her life.
A devoted animal lover, Kenny had a special bond with his beloved “grand dog,” Coco, and spent the last 27 years with his cherished blue-and-yellow macaw, Trouble. He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, kind heart, unwavering devotion to his family, and the lasting impact he made on everyone who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers: Harold S. Halley, Richard Halley, and Timothy Halley.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A private celebration of life will be held.
