Larry Allsman

Godfrey: Larry Allsman, 83, passed away at 10:54pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at River Crossing in Alton. He was born on August 28, 1938, in Alton, the son of the late James and Ethel (Richardson) Allsman. He married Nancy J. Hasler on May 28, 1959, in Alton, and she preceded him in death on October 31, 2019. Survivors include three daughters and a son in law: Paula and Mark Mathews of Godfrey, Lori Rodgers of Godfrey, Kristie Allsman of Godfrey, six grandchildren: Amy (Mike) Arnold, Ryan (Abby) Allsman, Sarah Mathews, David Rodgers, Daniel Mathews, Skylynn Rae, five great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Larry was employed at Owens – Illinois Glass Works for twenty years. He then went to work at Alton Memorial Hospital for twenty years prior to his retirement. He was a man of faith. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Jenna Mathews and his siblings: Jerry, Robert, James, Violet Howes, Patsy Dieckman, and Virginia Allsman. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Private services will be held with private inurnment at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
