Larry Shewmake

East Alton: Larry D. Shewmake, 64, passed away at 3:56pm on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 21, 1957, in Wood River, the son of the late Walter and Shirley (Sparks) Shewmake. Survivors include two sons: Larry (Sherry) Shewmake Jr. of East Alton, Nathan (Samantha) Shewmake of Bethalto, two daughters: Mary Ann Shewmake of East Alton, Sabrina (Zachary) Campbell of Maryville, his grandchildren: Kinzley, Gavin, Keelan, Brittany, Dillon, Brady, Beckett, an expectant granddaughter: Braelynn, four great grandchildren: Andre, A’rianna, A’Marley, Kyren, five sisters: Debbie (Andy) Hoffman of East Alton, Tammy (Tom) Pollard of Mt. Olive, Sue Furlow of Festus, Missouri, Robin Bricker of Bunker Hill, Cathy (Vince) Floyd of South Roxana, two brothers: Jimmy (Laurie) Shewmake of Alton, Mark (Vicky) Shewmake of East Alton, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Larry was formerly employed at Olin Mill and was a supervisor at National Marine. He was a former member of the Bluff City Motorcycle Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Michael Shewmake. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials are suggested to the family in care of his son Nathan.
