Lauri Pembrook

East Alton — Lauri Pembrook, 62, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at her home in East Alton. She was born in Chicago on December 11, 1963, the daughter of the late William and Mariellen (Murnane) Brice, and of her birth mother, the late Helen F. Leone.

Lauri was a devoted partner, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who loved her family deeply. She was especially devoted to her four grandchildren. She treasured every moment she spent with them, filling their time together with play, laughter, and plenty of spoiling. Her grandchildren brought her immense joy, and she would do anything for them.

Lauri is survived by her life partner of 32 years, Tom Robien of East Alton; her daughters and sons-in-law, Lindsey and Austin Noble of Wichita, Kansas, and Beth and Michael Saleda of East Alton; and her four grandchildren, Henry, Meredith, Lydia, and Ada.

She is also survived by her sister, Dawn Andrews of Palatine, Illinois; her brothers and sister-in-law, Thomas and Stephanie Brice of Palatine, Illinois, and Michael Brice of Alton; her half-brother, Zachary Fitzpatrick of Oak Grove Village, Illinois; her father-in-law, Gerald Robien of Bethalto; her mother-in-law, Roseann Stice of East Alton; her brother-in-law, Michael Robien of Wood River; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Lauri spent approximately 30 years working in the food service industry, where she worked as a server, hostess, and bartender.

Outside of work, Lauri found happiness in the things she loved most. She enjoyed gardening, spending time at the beach, and making memories with her family. She and Tom especially enjoyed the couple of years they spent living in Florida. Above all, Lauri loved her family fiercely and treasured the time she was able to spend with them.

She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Helen F. Leone.

A celebration of Lauri’s life will be held with visitation from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, August 17, 2026, at Holy Angels Parish in Wood River, with Father Donald Wolford as celebrant. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to OSF St. Anthony’s Hospice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
