Leila Dutchik

Wood River:

Leila M. Dutchik, 100, passed away at 10:05pm on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at her residence. She was born on October 8, 1922, in Lima, Ohio, the daughter of the late Albert and Mary (Rogers) Cooperider. She married Clement Dutchik on January 1, 1947, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter: Diane Dutchik of Wood River, two sons: Ken (Barbara) Dutchik of Pineville, Louisiana, Tom Dutchik of East Alton, a daughter in law: Sandy Dutchik of East Alton, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, several great – great grandchildren, and many other extended family and friends.

Leila worked as a riveter during World War II. She then worked as the activity director at VIP Manor in Wood River.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by her son: John who passed earlier on Thursday, July 13, 2023, a daughter in law: Jacquelyn, two grandchildren: Randi Stroud, Dakota Stroud, and a brother: Jim.

In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be 4pm to 7pm on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Private inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Edwardsville.

Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
