Loretta Jane Dyer

Loretta Jane Dyer was born on August 26, 1934, in Saline County, Illinois, the daughter Olen and Reathie (Pemberton) Tate. On Aug 12, 1955, in Roxana, IL., she married Lovell (Bud) E. Dyer. To this Union 3 children were born: Michael Dyer (Ellen) of Bethalto, Allen Dyer (deceased) and Marla (Sonny) Lampe of Greenville, IL.

Jane worked at Olin for a short time and then was a homemaker raising her children. She enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, sewing, and Genealogy. Most of all she enjoyed the times they spent with their Grandchildren at the Lake. Jane was active at The Roxana Church of the Nazarene. She was a member there for over 70 years where she served on the board, taught Sunday school for many years, sang in the choir, made costumes for Christmas pageants and any other things that were asked of her.

She is survived by her husband of 68 ½ years, two children, Michael Dyer (Ellen) of Bethalto, Marla (Sonny) Lampe of Greenville, Illinois, eight grandchildren, Carl (Angela) Dyer, Nathan Dyer, Clay Dyer , Tyler (Rachel) Neese, Tanner (Emily) Neese, and Kati (Jake) Compton, Bradley (Mallory) Dyer, Sarah Lampe, ten great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Allen S. Dyer, two sisters, Sue Alecci, Merrilie Barnhart and one brother: Leon Tate.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10am until time of services at 11:30am on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the Roxana Church of the Nazarene. Rev. Jay Shoff will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.

Memorials are suggested to Tate’s Chapel Cemetery in Galatia, Illinois or Roxana Church of Nazarene.
