Lucreta Marmino, 98, passed away at 4:41pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at her residence. She was born on July 19, 1927, in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late John and Pearl (Stevens) Smith. She married Anthony “Tony” Marmino on October 18, 1944, in Alton, and he preceded her in death on January 5, 2013. Survivors include three sons and two daughters in law: Randy and Kathy Marmino of Bethalto, Dana Marmino of Wood River, Illinois, Tod and Colleen Marmino of Shipman, three grandchildren: Lisa M. Landyn, Andi Pace, Jacob Marmino, four great grandchildren: Cody Land, Katy Land, Cooper Pace, Avery Pace, a great - great granddaughter: Lena Florence Land, a great – great grandson: Carter Land, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Lucreta was employed at Owens – Illinois Glass Works as a box maker prior to becoming a homemaker. Lucreta loved to sew and bake. She made the best pies.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters: Charlotte Rich and Betty Blaine.

In celebration of her life, private visitation was held at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River on Saturday, September 20, 2025. Burial followed at Brighton Cemetery in Brighton, Illinois.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
