Margy L. Lewis

Margy Louise Lewis, 85, passed away at 6:45pm on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at her daughter’s residence in Bethalto. She was born on June 17, 1939, in Alton, the daughter of the late Clyde and Helen (Kohle) Gwillim. Survivors include her children: Susan (Mike) Brimer, Sandra (Charles) Pierce, Steven Lewis, Joshua Lewis, Blake Ennis, her grandchildren: Brandi (Scotty Stricklin) Brimer, Jared (Karen) Brimer, Courtney Pierce, Parker Lewis, Gabriella Lewis, her great grandchildren: Emily Brimer, Dylan Stricklin, Ryan Pierce, Colton Pierce, Joshua Beck, Matthew Beck, and many other extended family and friends.

Margy formerly owned and operated Margy’s Daycare for thirty years. She then worked at Child Horizon’s in Roxana and was a foster parent to many children through the years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother: Jerry Gwillim.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
