Marie Peavy

Moro: Marie Peavy, 86, passed away at 12:25pm on Monday, August 27, 2018, at her residence. She was born on August 28, 1931, in Madison, Illinois, the daughter of the late Roy and Clara (King) Faulkner. She married Daniel Welborn in 1950 and they later divorced. She then married A.V. Peavy in 1977, in Granite City, and he preceded her in death in 2013. Survivors include a son and daughter in law: Wayne and Cathy Welborn of Moro, two grandchildren: Joshua Welborn, Tiffany Welborn, four step – grandchildren and their spouses: Matt and Jana Rayner, Brad and Lauren Rayner, Beth and Chadd Murray, Lauren and Nathan Bender, three great grandchildren, nine step great grandchildren, one brother: Sid Faulkner of Troy, Illinois, and many other extended family and friends. Marie was employed at Southwestern Bell for over thirty years where she retired in the logistics and purchasing department. She was a member of the Community of Christ in Wood River. In celebration of her life, a private graveside service will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to BJC Hospice of Alton.
