Marion "Kaye" Loraine

Wood River: Marion Kaye "Kaye" Loraine passed into the gates of Heaven at her residence in Wood River, Illinois December 5, 2018 at 6:11 AM. She was born at home in Hartford, Illinois April 6, 1955 to Derald and Jane (DeHart) Loraine. Kaye is survived by three sisters, Marie (Tom) Reyne of Godfrey, Illinois; Marilyn Loraine of Wood River, Illinois; and Martha Maynard of St. Louis, MO. She was also a beloved aunt to ten nephews, two nieces, six great nephews, and ten great nieces. Also surviving are special friends, Mike and Kathy Rider and her cats, Bandit and Shadow. She attended Alton Schools and graduated from Alton High School and Lewis and Clark Community College. She was employed by Wood River Police Department as a Dispatcher for 34 years, retiring in 2015. She was also the Recording Secretary and Shop Steward for their union, United Steelworkers Local # 9189. She was a member of the Red Hat Society for many years. In addition to her parents, Kaye was preceded in death by a sister: Marjorie Jean Beckham. Visitation will be from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday, December 9, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the funeral home. Pastors Ray and Lisa Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials may be made to 5A's.
