Martha June Evans

Martha June Evans, 97, went home to Jesus at 8:35pm on Monday, December 30, 2024, at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on January 11, 1927, in Springfield, the daughter of the late Elmer and Olive (Frost) Davis. She married her high school sweet-heart James Evans and he preceded her in death. Survivors include her children: Gail (Fred) Gass, Judith (Jim) Gass, Beth Ford, Rebecca (Terry) June, Sarah (Bob) Etter, Taylor (Phyllis) Evans, Timothy (Patrice) Evans, Thomas Evans, sixteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, and many other extended family and friends.

June was a dedicated and loving mother and grandmother who throughout her life, held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her. She was an active member of the Thayer Methodist Church and the Thayer Citizens United, where she continued to spread the warmth and love of our savior, Jesus Christ.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two sons: Mark Evans, Matthew Evans, a daughter in law: Susan, a son in law: Robert, a grandson: Luke Gass, a brother: William Davis, two sisters: Louise, Josephine.

A celebration of her life was carried out at the family farm. She was buried at the Evans Cemetery on the farm.
