Alton: Mary Jane Fleming, 74, passed away at 2:30am on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at her residence. She was born on May 15, 1942, in Alton, the daughter of the late John and Laura (Stiritz) Hartley. She married Homer Dean Fleming on February 13, 1960, in Alton, and he survives. Other survivors include three sons and daughters in law: Tom and Kyoung Fleming of O’Fallon, Illinois, Troy and Bobbi Fleming of Alton, Blake and Caroline Fleming of Franklin, New York, four grandchildren: Kimber, Carly, Addy-Mae, Roscoe, seven step – grandchildren: Isaiah, Alma, Scott, Audrey, Peyton, Josie, Meredith, three sisters and a brother in law: Lillian Hartley of Greenfield, Illinois, Wilma Katz of White Hall, Illinois, and Sally and Paul Pittman of Willow Springs, Missouri. A homemaker, she was a member of the former Cherry Street Baptist Church in Alton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, one brother: Robert, two sisters: Dorothy Butler, Nancy Hartley, and an infant sister. In accordance with her wishes, she gifted her body to St. Louis University School of Medicine. Memorials are suggested to BJC Hospice of Alton.
