Mary S. Lemay

Alton: Mary S. LeMay, 87, passed away at 9:10am on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Bethalto Care Center. She was born on February 16, 1931, in Hamilton County, Illinois, the daughter of the late Thomas and Mattie (Tucker) Russell. She married Roy D. LeMay on February 18, 1947, and he preceded her in death on November 18, 1992. Survivors include three daughters and two sons in law: Jan and Walter Clark of Bethalto, Sandra Hendrix of Alton, Kimberly and Robert Carrington of Alton, one son and daughter in law: Curtis and Tammy Lemay of Foley, Alabama, thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great – grandchildren, three great – great – grandchild, and one brother and sister in law: Marion and Patricia Russell of McLeansboro, Illinois. A homemaker, Mary was a former member of Heartland Baptist Church in Alton. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother: John Russell. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 10am until time of memorial services at 11am on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor Steven Helfrich will officiate. Private inurnment will be at Short Cemetery in Cottage Hills. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society Relay for Life Riverbend and will be accepted at the funeral home.
