Rosewood Heights:
Mary Jane Weinberg, 72, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at Keystone Place of Magnolia Commons.
Born on March 8, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee, Mary was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Carmen) Swift. She later married Joel Weinberg, the love of her life, who preceded her in death.
Mary Jane Weinberg emanated light and love. Some might say she lost her battle with dementia, but those who knew her best would say the battle stood no chance against her exuberant spirit.
Whether you knew her as a caring friend, the youngest sister of six, the devoted wife, the loving mother of two adoring daughters, the cherished Meemee, or the dancing queen of Keystone Place, every version of Mary was authentically her. She had a remarkable gift for making others feel seen, loved, and welcome.
Despite losing her ability to fully verbalize her thoughts and emotions due to aphasia and dementia, Mary remained a beautiful reminder that a person’s essence can never be diminished. When words became difficult, she continued to communicate through love, sharing her heart and touching the hearts of everyone around her.
Mary found joy in music, laughter, and connection. Mary Jane is a swift reminder that even when times may feel dark, you can still turn on your favorite song and dance to the music.
She is survived by her two daughters, Melissa Schindler of Kansas City, Missouri, and Raina Weinberg of Kansas City, Missouri, her beloved grandson, Charley Schindler of Kansas City, Missouri, her sister, Melissa Jones of Oakland, Mississippi, and many other extended family members and dear friends who will forever carry her memory with them.
In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
