Alton: Maurice L. “Mo” Brown, 54, passed away at 5pm on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, in Godfrey. He was born on April 13, 1962, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Ruth Brown. He was raised by his grandmother: Rosie “Tavey” Jordan until her time of passing. Survivors include one son: Joshua Brown, two grandchildren: Jocelyn and Mariah, his dog: Domino, aunt and uncle: Rose and Jimmy, five sisters: Alfredia Brown, Melva Brown, Dennice Brown, Gale Brooks, and Teresa Brooks three brothers: Mryron Brown, William Brown and Dennis Brown; as well as a host of family and friends, and his caretakers: Paul, Jackie, Suzy, Patty, and Vanessa. He was formerly employed as a Certified Medical Technician early in his life. He formerly lived in Fresno, California for ten years. He was a faithful volunteer at Soups On for 15 years. He attended the Alton Mission. He was a veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son: Jeremiah Perry. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorial visitation will be from 9:30am until time of a home going celebration service at 10:30 on Saturday, July 16, 2016, at First Presbyterian Church of Alton located at the corner of 4th and Alby. Please use the lower 4th Street entrance. Paul Militzer will officiate. Memorials are suggested to First Presbyterian Church of Alton - Soups on Ministry.
