Alton: Maxine E. Clark, 77, passed away at 9:55pm on Monday, April 30, 2018, at her residence. She was born on June 9, 1940, in Alton, the daughter of the late Homer and Pearl (McLain - Martin) Bricker. She married Wilford E. Clark on February 18, 1958, in Bethalto, and he preceded her in death. Survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Judy and Jeff Davis of Meadowbrook, Rebecca Wright of Troy, five sons and four daughters in law: Ricky and Donita Clark of Wood River, Jackie and Lori Clark of Alton, Gary and Candy Clark of Bethalto, Charles Clark of Alton, Michael and Christy Clark of East Alton, several grandchildren, several great grandchildren, one great – great grandson, seven sisters, five brothers, and many other extended family and friends. Maxine was formerly employed as a cook at Beverly Farm Foundation of fifteen years prior to her retirement in 2004. She enjoyed playing bingo, doing crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, and watching game shows. She was a member of the Sovereign Baptist Church prior to its closure. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a son: Herbert “Dink” Clark, a granddaughter: Heidi Clark, one sister: Nancy, and one brother: Dennis. . In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, May 4, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Following the visitation and in accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
