Melody Johnson

Melody Johnson, 72, passed away at 9am on Friday, September 13, 2024, at LaBella of Alton. She was born on February 7, 1952, in Aurora, Illinois, the daughter of the late Laverne and Cecilia (Idox) Raymond. She married Cyril Ward in 1970, and they later divorced. She married Larry Johnson in 1992, and he preceded her in death in 2015. Survivors include a daughter and son in law: Cecilia and Chris Flowers of East Alton, a son and daughter in law: Cy and Jessica Ward of Crystal Lake, Illinois, four grandchildren: Jack, Tara, Emily, Robin, a great grandson: Leland, and many other extended family and friends.

Melody was formerly employed as a Certified Nurses Assistant as Sherman Health Systems in Elgin, Illinois, prior to her retirement. She enjoyed target shooting and camping with Larry.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister: Irene, and two brothers: Kenny and David.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.

Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be accepted at the funeral home.
