Mercelete Kinder

Moro: Mercelete Kinder, 96, passed away at 7:30pm on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at Heritage Health of Staunton. She was born on May 23, 1920, in Glen Allen, Missouri, the daughter of the late Claude and Flo (Stilts) Vance. She married Christian “Mitt” Kinder on March 23, 1941, in Lutesville, Missouri, and he preceded her in death on March 23, 2007. Survivors include a son and daughter in law: Kelly and Margaret Kinder of Moro, a daughter in law: Janice Kinder of Worden, two grandchildren: Rick Kinder and his wife: Jamie of Alhambra, David Kinder of Centralia, five great grandchildren: Brett, Blake, Brady, Brent, Brooke, and one sister: Retha Sitze of Godfrey. She was formerly employed at Kroger and the ceramic shop. She also helped her husband on farm. She was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of East Alton. She was a member of the home extension for 55 years. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one son: Claude “Mick” Kinder, and a sister: Virginia Sitze. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10am until time of time services of 12pm on Monday, December 5, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials are suggested to the 1st United Methodist Church of East Alton or the Murray Center in Centralia, Illinois.
