Michael M. Holmes

Michael M. Holmes, 36, passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023, in St. Louis, Missouri, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born on October 7, 1987, in Alton, the son of John and Cynthia (Smith) Holmes of Alton. He married the former Kelly McGowen on September 30, 2023, in Alton, and she survives. In addition to his parents and his wife, he is survived by his daughters: Madison Holmes of Wood River, Kaylyn Holmes of Wood River, Trinity Kopp of Wood River, Kali Korte of Shiloh, Samantha Graham of Godfrey, three grandchildren: Aiden McGowen, Malakai Graham, Jaz’mynn Edwards, his sister: Kimberlly Holmes of Meadowbrook, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Michael was employed as a driver at Waste Management. He loved riding motorcycles and was a former member of the New Attitudes and a proud affiliate of the Outlaws.

In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 11am until 1pm on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Immediately following the visitation, graveside services will be at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family with checks payable to Kelly Holmes and will be accepted at the funeral home.
