Michael Lyons

Wood River: Michael W. Lyons, 56, passed away at 5:14pm on Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 24, 1958, in Alton the son of the late James L. Lyons Sr. and Charlotte M. (Rowling) Townsend. He married the former Regina Barnes on May 7, 1981, and she survives. Other survivors include his children: Amy Wall of East Alton, Lavonne Barton and her husband: Daniel of Wood River, two sons: Billy Cox and his companion: Natasha Meyers of Alton, Timothy Cox and his companion: Samantha Partridge of Alton, seven grandchildren, two brothers and sisters in law: James and Sandra Lyons of Godfrey, Thomas and Debbie Lyons of Godfrey, and one step – brother: Clarence M. Townsend of Alton. He was employed as a truck driver for TMCI Trucking for the last 10 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: John David Lyons. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 4pm to 6pm on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family.
