East Alton: Nancy J. Schwendeman, 69, passed away at 8:45pm on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at her residence. She was born on August 14, 1948, in Hillsboro, Illinois, the daughter of the late George and Minnie (Busch) Post. She married Kenneth Shaw on August 25, 1971, in Madison County, Illinois and they later divorced. She then married Paul Schwendeman on July 12, 2007, in Edwardsville, and he survives. Other survivors include three daughters and two sons in law: Kristine and Adonis Clark of Edwardsville, Marcile and Frank Feaster of Millersburg, Illinois, Nanette Shaw of Collinsville, a step – son: Andy Schwendeman of Godfrey, a step – daughter: Jennifer Boulton of Wright City, Illinois, twelve grandchildren, one great – grandchild, seven sisters and brothers in law: Jorja Haberer of Highland, Alice and Elven Blunt of New Douglas, Lola and John Goodman of Alexandria, Virginia, Linda and Ellis Langdon of North Carolina, Marsha Post of Herrin, Illinois, Rosalind Wolf of New Douglas, Illinois, Melissa and Doug Pfeffer of Troy, Illinois, three brothers and sisters in law: Christopher and Star Post of Joliet, Larry and Angie Post of Indiana, Curtis and Patricia Post of Greenville, her four legged dog: Kodak, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Nancy formerly owned and operated Nancy’s Crafts in Highland. She was active in Toys for Tots and the Avenue of Flags. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson: Adonis Clark, Jr. and two brothers: Jerry Post and Brian Post. In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesday, November 21, 2017, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Graveside services will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, November 22, 2017, at Greene Cemetery in Pocahontas, Illinois. Pastor Darryl Bolen will officiate. Memorials are suggested to Toys for Tots and will be accepted at the funeral home.
