Nancy J. Self

Wood River: Nancy J. Self, 70, passed away and went to be with the Lord at 10:02pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2016, with her family by her side at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 28, 1946, in Mayfield, Kentucky, the son of the late Gayle and Pauline (Buchanan) Dillon. She married William “Bill” Self on April 5, 1971, in Mayfield, Kentucky, and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters and a son in law: Evelyn and Michael Robbins of Roxana, Billie Self of Farmington, Missouri, one son and daughter in law: Paul and Cheryl Adams of Bloomington, Indiana, seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three sisters, three brothers, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. She was formerly employed as a beautician in Kentucky. She then was employed at Hardee’s in East Alton as a biscuit maker. She loved working with her flowers and playing with her grandkids. She was a member Godfrey Church of Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister. In celebration of her life, memorial visitation will be from 2pm until time of services at 4pm on Monday, May 9, 2016, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor James Lampley will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family and will be accepted at the funeral home.
