Nancy Sparrowk

Wood River: Nancy Sparrowk, 84, passed away at 6:35am on Friday, September 24, 2021, at her residence. She was born on September 17, 1937, in Bethalto, the daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Consendine) Gerdes. Survivors include a son: Kip Michael Sparrowk of Wood River, two daughters: Jodi Lynn Isringhausen of Belleville, Jan Ellen Sparrowks of Roxana and many other extended family and friends. A grandson, Andrew Isringhausen precedes her in death. Nancy was a favorite hairdresser to many. She retired from JCPenney Salon in Alton, IL after over forty years in the industry. Nancy never missed Wheel of Fortune, the Sunday crossword puzzle and loved her granddaughter Amanda Jo’s bread pudding. In retirement she loved to work in her yard and swing on her porch swing. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials are suggested to the 5A’s and will be accepted at the funeral home.
