Roxana:
Nora M. Gilmour was promoted to Heaven on October 17, 2025, with her daughters by her side. She was born on October 8, 1933, and had just celebrated her 92nd birthday. Her parents were Lillard and Nellie (Ralph) Ray. Nora grew up in Alton and graduated from Alton High School. She married the love of her life, Bob Gilmour and they were together for 57 years. They had so much fun camping and fishing with their friends at Rend Lake. Nora was always the most fun person at any gathering. She was a self - proclaimed “Game Dame” and was always ready to have a glass of wine and play a game. She loved going to Cardinals games and visiting with her neighbors. She cherished her friendship with Karen Maring.
Nora loved gardening and her backyard was a testament to the hard work and loving care that she gave it. It was one of her favorite places to be. She loved decorating her home for the holidays and believed you could never have enough ornaments on the tree.
Nora is survived by two daughters and their husbands who loved her very much, Cheryl and Randy Bishop and Karen and Mitch Keller.
The grandchildren that she loved beyond words, Ashley and her husband Ross Williams, Katie Bishop, Tyler Babcock, Rachel and her husband Nick Roach. The great grandchildren who were so lucky to have her in their lives: Jordan and Christina Bishop, Kai Walker, Tyler Babcock, Addison and Olive Williams, Colter and Keller Roach.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death and was greeted in Heaven by her best friend and husband, Bob Gilmour, and her beloved grandson Joel Bishop.
In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Monday. October 27, 2025, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.
