Norma Sands

Norma J. Sands, 74, passed away at 4:25am on Saturday, February 15, 2014, at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. She was born on December 29, 1939, in Grayville, Illinois the daughter of the late Charles G. and Annagil (Kimbro) Rush. Survivors include one daughter and son in law: Deanna and Mark Barnes of Cottage Hills, one son: Brad Sands and Lori Smith of Edwardsville, two grandchildren: Alex Barnes and Jessica Barnes, and many nieces and nephews. She was a great friend to many. She was formerly employed at Owens – Illinois Glass Works as a packer. She was a member Pleasant View Baptist Church in Wood River. She was also a member of the AARP. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Galen Rush, Charles Rush, and one sister: Charlene James. In accordance with her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of her life will be held from 2pm to 8pm on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at the Hartford Community Center, 715 North Delmar, Hartford, Illinois 62048. Memorials are suggested to Operation Blessing.
