Livingston: Norman Sanders, Sr., 71, passed away at 5:45pm on Thursday, December 10, 2020, at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital in Alton. He was born on March 22, 1949, in Granite City, the son of the late Clyde and Henrietta (Cohn) Sanders. Survivors include his sons: Norman Sanders, Jr. of Staunton, Kirk Sanders and his wife: Teresa Jacksonville, Illinois, Ted Sanders and his wife: Deanna of Brighton, Johnathan Sanders and his wife: Natalie of Staunton, a daughter: Brenda Sanders of Wood River, nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, seven sisters: Shirley Plunk and her husband: Bill of Augustine, Florida, Susan Smiley of Staunton, Elaine Holmes and her husband: James of Granite City, Sarah Campbell of Missouri, Maria Berkely of Indiana, Paul Reed of Granite City, Velma Burks and her husband: Larry of Alton, a brother: Jesse Sanders and his wife: Becky of Missouri, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Norman was self employed in the HVAC field. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by six brothers: John, Albert, Frank, Timothy, Mitchell, and Clyde “Doc”.
