Staunton: Pansy P. Schuetz, 91, formerly of Alton, passed away at 9:16am on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Heritage Health in Staunton. She was born on March 27, 1927, in Rombauer, Missouri, the son of the late August and Darlie (Hood) Henry. She married Homer Schuetz on January 22, 1988, in Alton, and he preceded her in death on May 15, 2009. Survivors include one son and daughter in law: William and Frances Crain of Staunton, two grandchildren and their spouses: William A. and Belinda Crain of Staunton, Susan and James Garrison of Staunton, five great grandchildren: Cheyenne Crain, Stephen Warren III, Savannah Warren, Olivia Crain, Caleb Crain, one great – great granddaughter: Payton Chapman, a sister and brother in law: Lena and Jim Baze of Alton, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Pansy was formerly employed in family service for various nursing homes. She attended Godfrey Church of the Nazarene. She was a lifetime member of Alton VFW Post 1308. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by seven sisters: Arlene Smoot, Norma Osborn, Lucille Turner, Virginia Rawlings, Ruth Keber, Grace Dalton, Lillie Buchanan, and one brother: Buford Henry. In celebration of her life, visitation was held from 10am until 12pm on Monday, February 18, 2019, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Graveside services followed at 12:30pm on Monday, February 18, 2019, at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
