Paul Warren

Paul Warren, 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep at 5:50am on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Stillwater Senior Living in Edwardsville. He was born on October 12, 1932, in Olive Branch, Illinois, the son of the late Howard and Orpha (Bedwell) Warren. He married the former Reba Hack on July 10, 1957, in South Roxana, and she survives. In addition to his wife of sixty – seven years, he is survived by his daughter and son in law: Kelley and Tom Whorl of Maryville, son Gregory Warren of South Roxana, his grandchildren: Tyler Whorl, Brad Warren, Stefanie Warren, Hannah Warren, Noah Warren, Faith Warren, and Isaiah Warren.


Paul was a carpenter by trade and worked at Elmer Street Construction, RCS Construction, Barton Construction, and retired from working with his son at G.L. Warren Construction. Paul was a devoted Christian who loved God and serving his church. He loved playing the guitar, singing, bowling, and being with his family, his friends, and his church. Paul served as a Trustee for the Village of South Roxana and was the former Police Commissioner in South Roxana. He was active in the South Roxana Dad’s Club. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army and served during the Korean War.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.


In celebration of his life, private funeral services were held at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial followed with full miliary honors at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.


Memorials are suggested to Stillwater Senior Living and will be accepted at the funeral home.
