Richard Louis Hunt

Hartford: Richard Louis Hunt, 85, passed away at 3:16pm on Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on April 13, 1932, in Wanda, Illinois, the son of the late Herbert R. and Clara L. (Ahrens) Hunt. He married the former Linda Belling on May 2, 1971, in Wanda, and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters: Susan Anderson of South Roxana, Karen Barnwell of Gillespie, two step sons and their wives: Dennie and Anne Long of Morris, Illinois, Tim and Kathy Long of Granite City, ten grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many other extended family and friends. Richard was formerly employed as a clerk at the Edwardsville Post Office for twenty – five years prior to his retirement in 1992. He then was employed by the Naples, Florida KOA Campgrounds in the housekeeping department. He was a member of the Hartford United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Howard. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be from 5pm until time of memorial services at 7pm on Monday, March 19, 2018, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Memorials are suggested to Hartford United Methodist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
