Robert "Bob" Boettcher

Edwardsville: Robert “Bob” Boettcher, 77, passed away at 11:57pm on Sunday, December 25, 2016, at Alton Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 1, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Christ E .and Hilda W. (Vassel) Boettcher. He married the former Anna Prehn on September 13, 1963, in Jerseyville, and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter and son in law: Tammy and Dennis Clements of Bethalto, one son: Ted Boettcher of Rosewood Heights, three grandchildren: Jeremy Clements, Jacob Clements, Julianna Clements and her boyfriend: Jeremy Zirkelbach, and a brother in law: William and Cheri Prehn. Bob owned and operated Boettcher Farms in Hartford. Following retirement, he owned and operated Bob’s Lawn Service. He loved working in his yard and bragging about his truck and lawn mowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Ralph. In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, December 29, 2016, at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Friday, December 30, 2016, at the church. Pastor Mark Hofferber will officiate. Following the services, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials are suggested to Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto or to the Madison County Humane Society.
