Rodney "Rod" Croxford, 84, passed away at 2:31pm on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Jersey Community Hospital. He was born on September 4, 1941, in Alton, Illinois, the son of the late Harvey and Irma (Willis) Croxford. He married the former Virginia Mae "Ginny" Kessler on August 10, 1963, in Granite City and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters and sons in law: Leigh Ann and Glenn Abbott of Indianapolis, Indiana, Cindy and Rick Haynes of Indianapolis, Indiana, one son and daughter in law: Brian and Gina Croxford of Indianapolis, Indiana, seven grandchildren: Allen, Elise, Emma, Zoe, Myles, Samuel, and Elizabeth all of Indianapolis, Indiana, a sister and brother in law: Shirley and Melvin Wieneke of Golden Eagle, Illinois, one brother: Edward Croxford of Godfrey, several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

He was employed from as an IRS agent for 14 years prior to opening his own accounting business Croxford & Company in Alton. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in East Alton where he held many positions and served on many committees. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois Certified Public Accountants Society. He was a member of the East Alton Rotary Club since 1982. At Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, he was a member of the Air Force ROTC. Because of his link to the ROTC, he became a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders. He and his wife travelled to all 50 states, all 7 continents, and travelled to most of the National Parks. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, and the St. Louis Cardinals.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother: Kenneth, a sister in law: Mary Croxford, and two nephews: Todd Croxford and Dennis Croxford.

In celebration of his life, visitation will be from 9:30am until time of funeral services at 11am on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Pastor Ed Granadosin will officiate. Burial will follow at Elsah Cemetery in Elsah, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Paul United Methodist Church in East Alton or to the 5A's.
