Ron Orloski, 79, passed away at 10:33 a.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at his home. He was born on July 27, 1946, in St. Louis, the son of the late Steve and Alice (Dellenbach) Orloski. He married the former Sandra Kay Hand and they were married for almost sixty years prior to her passing on May 27, 2023. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Trish and Steve Diveley of Bethalto, a son and daughter-in-law: Brian and Selena Orloski of Greenwood, Missouri, his grandchildren: Cory and Emily Diveley, Katie Diveley and her husband: Ben Solomon, Ali and Wesley Rather, Tyler and Emma Orloski, and Taylor Orloski (Zayne Finley), his great-grandchildren: Caleb, Cooper, Carly, Elliott, Dawson, Maggie, Miley, one brother and sister-in-law: Randy Orloski and his wife, Linda Owen, a sister-in-law: Renee Hand, his close friend: Kathie Humphrey, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and good friends.
Ron was a tractor trailer mechanic by trade. He was also a taxidermist for many years, showing off his creativity and skill. He loved spending summers fishing in Canada, hunting in any season, and spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters: Tina Orloski Sumpter, Betty Orloski Tyson, and his brother-in-law: Ron Hand.
Visitation will be at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River, IL on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., followed by Hunting Stories, Fish Tales, and Memories — a time for family and friends to share stories and reflections about Ron. Following visitation and in accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
