Ronald D. Hand

Cahokia: Ronald D. Hand, 67, passed away at 1:30am on Thursday, May 28, 2020, at his residence. He was born on May 8, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of the late Jewel and Gladys Joyce (Betts) Hand. He married the former Renee Keim on June 15, 1991, in Cahokia, and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter: Brandi Hand Schneider of Arnold, Missouri, a granddaughter: Ashley Schaffner, a sister and brother in law: Sandra and Ron Orloski of Moro, a step – daughter: Melissa Keim, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends. Ron was formerly employed at the DeSoto Police Department as a police officer. He then worked for the Hillsboro County Sheriff’s Department and later worked for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department. He retired from Monsanto in Sauget after twenty years as a security officer. Ron enjoyed going to the shooting range and watching television. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Dustin Hand and two grandchildren: Robert and Colton Schneider. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Riverbend.
