O’Fallon:

Ronald G. Reed, 79, passed away at 12:13am on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in O’Fallon, Illinois. He was born on September 2, 1943, in East St. Louis, the son of the late Delbert Paul and Minnie Augustine (Edwards) Reed. He married the former Cynthia “Cindy” Bass on June 23, 1990, in Belleville, and she survives. Other survivors include three sons and daughters in law: Ron and Susan Reed of Collinsville, Jesse and Jenni Randolph of O’Fallon, Illinois, Carl S. and Terri Randolph of Kansas City, Missouri, six grandchildren: Emily and Cory Diveley, Chesley and Johnny Miller, Alyssa Randolph, Casey Randolph, William “Will” Randolph, Katie Randolph, three great grandchildren: Caleb Diveley, Cooper Diveley, Carly Diveley, a brother and sister in law: Richard (Bobbie Verts) Reed of O’Fallon, Illinois, and many other extended family and friends.

Ronald was formerly employed at Alton and Southern Railroad for many years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and playing softball in his younger years. He was a member of Moose Lodge 2608, the VFW Post 805, and the PAWV.

A celebration of Ronald’s life will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at the O’Fallon American Legion, 109 North Penn Street in O’Fallon, Illinois. Graveside services will be held at 1pm on Friday, February 24, 2023, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
